BRASIL – CAMEROON with Rafaela
The last match of the group series I watched in Tijuca, at one of Rio’s Samba schools, Salgueiro. This match I watched with a woman, Rafaela, one of Salgueiros dancers, and her friends. And dancing she can, very very well. Apart from watching a match there was a lot more happening in the Samba school. For every beer you drank you would get a ticket for the lottery. Next to prices as T-shirts there was one big final price, a flat screen TV. During the break and after the match the lottery was being held, with live samba music and dancing. Rafaela was there with three fellow dancers to draw the tickets of the lottery and they made quite a show out of it. All four were in the same rehearsal suits. Very nice for the man to look at, but I would love to see them dancing in their Fantasia (outfits of the Carnival).
Because our day was completely different than planned (we met up half way the first half of the match, instead of in the afternoon a couple of hours before the match), Rafaela did not show and tell me much about her life yet. For this we will make a new appointment, but she promised: then I will put on last year’s Fantasia for the photo!
Obrigada Rafaela por hoje, nos vemos em breve!
